It’s a great article and I enjoyed the book as well. My only gloss, if you’ll permit it, is this: each man is a combination of all four temperaments. There’s a predominant type and a predominant secondary. Every man looking through the list will find parts of himself in each archetype and there will be one with which he resonates. But care must be taken for each of us will seek to identify with his ego-ideal. If you really want to know your archetype, do the work, and then ask your wife, your fiancée, your best friend — or your father. Or your Heavenly Father.
Muy interesante y me ayudó como recordatorio de mi personalidad y mi autoconocimiento. Siempre me identifique con el arquetipo del monje debido a mi personalidad flemática. Es interesante ver cómo encajan de alguna manera.
This is a brilliant piece and it introduced a framework I think we as Catholic men must greatly consider, if we want to take our journey to sainthood seriously. I contemplate on my own archetype and I find so much truth in it, but at the same time I am comforted that there is a way I can continue to live my calling even while I am married and have children.
Very insightful, thank you for sharing this! I know we are all called to be priest, prophet, and king in the order of Melchizedek. This really helps put that into perspective!
I needed this this week. I was put in charge of a men's group and I've been struggling to find my leadership footing. I think that I was approaching it as a king when I should have approached it as a prophet.
Timely Post, read your book Knight, Monk, King, Prophet when it came out and just happened to lift it off my book shelf again a few days ago. Very informative book and a good read
I loved the breakdown on the different temperaments into their archetype ❤️
It has revealed a lot about myself and the inclinations I lean into.
Thanks so much for this
