I'm a new reader and first felt the surge of click bait on the title, however after reading the article feel largely disappointed if not angry.
"fact that we will never be the pinnacle of human development." Who said we would? is that the goal? did I miss something.
I think there's alot here there is modern and worldly. Being known in the history books? Again, is that the goal? I wish to be forgotten by all but remembered by One.
I do feel that dispair at times, but I'm quickly reminded that this is not our home and we're made for something else.
Never said that was the goal brother. Since you're new, you probably are not very familiar with my writing: sometimes I post these kinds of posts, that are not meant to be thought of as practical advice or descriptions of how things should be, but rather somewhat raw ramblings and musings in which I very honestly share some thoughts that go on in my head. If you read between the lines in the article, the message is precisely that it doesn't matter whether or not we are the pinnacle of human development or whether it matters to be remembered in the history books, and instead the point is that even if that's not the case, nihilism is unjustified and a terrible thing to believe. No idea why you felt disappointed -or even angry- at a post which shares an uplifting message of hope. As pr the positive reception of the post, I'm convinced it has helped a lot of men who do feel this sort of pressure to be great and think that if they don't end up having their names written in the history books, their lives weren't worth it. That's something many men feel, and the article, when understood correctly, tries to eliminate that concern, and affirms that life is full of purpose in the mere pursuit of improvement. Highly suggest you read some of my other posts, or even the book from which this article is taken so you get more familiar with my writing and you'll see that I don't try to pose as an authority in regards to how things should be, but very honestly share the thoughts, concerns, challenges, and lessons from my own life as just a man, sinful and damaged as all other men, trying his best to follow Christ faithfully.

Cheers.
