For many men it should start with lifting, or as close as you can get to that process. Discomfort then reward. For many it can be the beginning of rewiring they need to then embrace life.

100%. I know it was what started the whole journey for me.

A whole world is encompassed within that one activity. So simple, and yet it teaches much. Effort leads to reward, but also needs consistency to work. And it doesn't last if you take a break. That is life in a nutshell.

Thank you, I loved this post, I needed to hear this and it resonated with me completely. We need to find ways of doing this every day. I've gotten back into lifting and it's definitely giving direction and a reason to push myself. I need more, instead of being numb and dispondent. We all need a community of like-minded people, a brotherhood. Also, I'm thinking more and more about religion nowadays and that we've lost this in the West.

Glad to hear that brother and thank you for reading. Aside from lifting, I think it's key to start a creative pursuit of some sort. It doesn't have to be financially motivated, it can be just a hobby, but I think it's critical to start creating something that resonates with you and that allows you to explore the depths of your soul.

Great advice, thank you, brother. It's something I've heard before from my son, who is an artist and would love for me to draw more or to write. Thank you, something to work on. Also, where would you advise to start if I wanted to explore faith and Christ please, brother.

I’d start by reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, and maybe a daily devotional to start getting familiar with the Bible! I published one myself which you can check out here: https://www.amazon.com/Unbreakable-Faith-Devotional-Scripture-Reflections/dp/6280149978/

Also happy to answer any questions you might have and provide more specific recommendations on the chat so feel free to send me a DM! God bless you brother

Lifting is a good start. A whole microcosm of life. There is no cheating with lifting. Just you against yourself.

Remember, there are many out there just like you. Lots of them are lost. They need you to be strong and act as an exemplar for the life they want but can't quite manage. It can be a source of great strength and stamina to know others rely on you.

I really liked and appreciated this piece. It's time we men stood up, and that means understanding the crisis we're in and doing something about it. I think men need to start, not by lifting, not by anything they can do, but in humility and prayer, embracing who they are, where they are, and recognizing that God still holds them and loves them where they are regardless. I believe that is the starting point to strong, virile, real, Christian manhood.

I actually wrote a similar piece to this one, and I would really appreciate your thoughts on it.

(I'm honestly not trying to get more views, but say the word and I'll take this link off!)

Thanks for sharing your work brother. I loved the article, and it's a great addition to my own article so absolutely no issue with you promoting it here. God bless you Andrew!

This was beautifully written. I find the biggest thief of all is fake labor, as you cited. It steals the very essence of what your soul needs to accomplish or indulge in that which nourishes it - your time. And as time passes, life becomes more constrained, and it gets harder to shift as one gets older.

I couldn't agree more.

I l9ve all your writings! It resonate with me and my upbringing! Borned before V II, and dispised all that came with or after it. I'm struggling every Sunday Masses. They turned oriests into a bunch of wimp men. Afraid of their own shadow. It's so sad, no guts to stand up for The Lord's Teatchings, and to make matters worse, they change the words to fit with their modern teachings. I'm praying the rosary Daly asking Our Virgen Mother to intercede with Her Son our King, for this Conclave, May He send the Holly Spirit over the Cardinals and help them elect a true Peter! 🙏🙏🙏. A true Man like Pio X.

May God's will be done for the upcoming conclave. Thank you for reading and supporting brother, God bless you

And we have a Pope! We must seat back, let the smoke be cleared by all the wind, and the loud sounds coming from of the media quiet down. He will be a great Pope, nothing like our last one, that is my hope and feelings! Way better then the 10 top pretenders pushed by the church haters.

May God Keep His Light shining over you my brother in Christ! I sincerely admired your work. We need more writers like you, to say the least. Not a subscriber Yet, due to constrict budget, but work on it. 🙏💪🕊

I came across this article recently. I think its hitting the same note. I certainly agree with your assessment and I’ve been obsessed with Catholic Masculinity for a decade now. God speed my friend.

Excellent article, thanks for sharing it brother. I'm hopeful for the future as I'm seeing the pendulum swing back towards true Holy masculinity.

Great article and a great beginning to the discussion of the plight of men in the western world. I hope the author takes this article as a beginning to ferret and flush out the causes and the remedies. But most importantly, I pray that men in the western world start to take these things seriously and begin to engage with their Faith, Family and friends in a completely new way!!

Simple Man's avatar

Amen brother, may that be so. Thank you for reading and supporting, God bless you!

The man within whom resides the spirit of Christ…”He is blessed because all that he doeth shall prosper. His life is not in vain. He accomplishes what he undertakes. His work succeeds. He may not be rich or great or prosperous in the sense in which the world understands or esteems. He may have many troubles and what the world calls failure, but no real evil comes to him. All things work together for good to him. God turns everything that comes to him into real blessing, and surely this is prosperity in the truest sense.” From Christ in the Bible by A.B.
