Ultimately, liberal love comes straight from Satan. It is a myth to say devils never talk of love, they actually do all the time because they mourn the love they have lost in His Grace.
However, in the mind of a devil now is an empty, Graceless, mockery of love which serves oneself. There is no sacrifice in this love because it is conditional on what one receives in return, it is the glorification and edification of self over the other. We see this in liberal love, it is a love of pleasure, consumerist and transactional and conditional on being a liberal, if you are not then, as you say, you are a fascist, etc.
Sadly, it is this love that the Man of Lawlessness will promote, they won't come to power proclaiming hate and frothing at the mouth but proclaiming 'love', 'peace' 'order' and stability and bring exactly the opposite of all this. Liberal love is paving the way for the rise of the Antichrist and its gaining purchase and traction in society. Standing opposed to that is the real, Grace-filled, love of the Cross which we are to carry in us and continue to be the light of the world as the darkness closes in around us.
Beautifully explained brother. It's that selfish "freedom" that seeks only the gratification of one's most base desires. It's insane how effective their rhetorical tricks are, how so many people actually fall for the "love is love" nonsense and so on
Per usual, Chesterton has some golden commentary: “Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions…In real life, people who are most bigoted are the people who have no convictions at all.
Bigotry may be roughly defined as the anger of men who have no opinions.”
Let’s collaborate! I have so many thoughts… Old GK sure had it figured out.
I think the trouble is that tolerance is inherently reactive. It has neither basis nor foundation and, because of this, it resembles a sort of incoherent thrashing about inconsistent with positive momentum and true virtue.
Wonderful work sir, as always~ I appreciate the effort you put into wording what goes on around us even when we don't seem to find the words to describe them. God Bless you~
To love everything is to hate, for if you love Sin and teach not others to hate Sin you actually are hating them and if you are selling them short from heaven then what is actually happening is the worse form of hate. As St. Thomas says if you see injustice and you are not angered by it. Then there is something actually wrong with you.
Whether someone agrees with your conclusions or not, the call to examine language carefully instead of just absorbing slogans is a needed reminder. The closing paragraph, where you described real love as costly and courageous rather than comfortable, was probably the most compelling part for me. That’s a challenging vision of love, and it’s one worth wrestling with.

Thank you Brother. I am afraid people most often see what benefits their immediate wants as opposed to actual needs.

Might have to write an article just about that quote, as it's so tremendously profound and relevant nowadays.

Spot on. Leading others away from heaven is never "love"
Excellent point you are making. No one really talks about this anymore and it is critical to restoring humanity as we once knew it.
Glad you liked the article brother. And yes, absolutely, we need to start by making sure that words are used correctly.
“The greatest kindness one can render to any man consists in leading him from error to truth” - St Thomas Aquinas. Reminded me of this!
Perfect fit for this article!
Wow, one of the most beautiful articles I’ve read! Not only have you taught us about love, but you taught us about logical fallacies 😅 God bless!
Thank you for reading, Giulia, and glad you liked the article! God bless you
It's so sad what society has become
