One Secret All Winners Know
You won't achieve your goals if you don't understand this.
This article might get me some pushback.
What I’m about to discuss here is something that has become a touchy subject in Christian circles. You see, I believe in the compatibility between the pursuit of sanctity and eternal life in Christ and the drive to pursue greatness in the world. This is something that I wrote about in my book, Christian Vitality. In fact, I not only believe real faith to be compatible with a drive for success, but in many cases, inseparable from it. That’s not the point of this article, though. So if you want to read more about that, it’s explained in detail in the book.
I know how many christians have believed that following Christ means rejecting all interest in worldly matters, and that any pursuit of growth in this world, no matter how honest, is not only a waste of time, but a betrayal of the Christian faith.
So I’m prepared for some to misunderstand or feel offended by what this article is about: winning. And by winning I mean succeeding, not only spiritually, but also achieving your very real goals in this world.
Your Fire Is God-Given
Look, if you are a man, chances are that you were born with a very strong fire within you. Nearly all men have a natural inclination to pursue growth, to build, create, and leave a legacy. That drive is limitless power.
It’s true that this fire, when misused, is the cause of many tragedies. When harnessed incorrectly, a man will use that drive to bring chaos, death, and sorrow upon the world. But that same fire, when harnessed properly, when humbly subjected to God’s will, and when purified by good intentions, will lead a man to perform great works, to help thousands of people, to save lives, and build a better future.
The fire in your soul is a God-given gift, and you can use it in three ways: you can use it to bring light into the world, you can use it to create pain and sorrow, or you can tame it, numb it, and let it die.
It’s sad that most Christian men choose the third option, falsely believing it’s what God wants from them.
We Need More Winners
Imagine how different the world would be if we hadn’t voluntarily surrendered all positions of power to satanic degenerates. Imagine if instead of christian men refusing to compete in the playing fields of the world, we chose to fight over the positions of influence so we could avoid the enemies of Christ to have control over the masses.
Abandoning the fight is not a moral choice. It’s cowardice. We need more moral men to step into the fire and wrestle the control of the key positions of this world from the satanists that hold it hostage.
You are allowed to compete, and win, as long as you always give the glory to God. We need more Christian men to step up and lead, to harness the fire God gave them to rise, to become the light of the world and stop hiding our faith out of cowardice masqueraded as morality.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
— Matthew 5:14
With all that being said, here’s how you can actually take action and start winning, achieving your goals, and succeeding in the playing fields of the world.
Winning Isn’t Luck
Resentful men will claim that success is a factor of luck. “Must be nice” they say. The lazy man has a tendency to blame luck for their misfortunes, and similarly, to blame luck for the fortune of others. This is a defense mechanism, because it removes all responsibility from them. If winning or losing is random, then there’s no need to look inward and make uncomfortable, difficult changes. At the end of the day, it’s not up to you, is it?
And while it’s true that God is the one who ultimately decides everything, we were given free will, and we were given the ability to affect our circumstances and create the life we want to live. Believing in God does not make you exempt from the laws of cause and effect, which state that your actions do have an impact, and they bear specific consequences. However, a warning: God can take as easily as He can give, so even though you absolutely can increase your chances of success in everything you do and directly affect your circumstances, you cannot ever believe yourself to be the source of any blessings. Whatever blessings and fruits you produce are given to you by God’s grace, and He can just as easily take them. Always remain faithful to Him, and purify your efforts to make sure whatever you do, you do for His glory and in His name.
Success is not luck. Success is not random. It’s not determined by your social standing, the wealth of your family, or your appearance. Some of those things matter, and might make specific endeavors more or less difficult for you.
But winners know that success is something else. Successful men know it doesn’t come down to luck, and they know anyone has the power to become a serial winner, if they simply understood how the game is actually played.
Winning is a very simple formula, in which all the variables are directly under your control. And if you learn it, you will basically guarantee your efforts are rewarded. Ironically, it has nothing to do with your starting position in life, and it definitely has nothing to do with luck.
So what exactly is that formula?
