Merry Christmas!
Christ is born ✝️
I don’t have a lengthy message for you this Christmas, as you’re surely spending the day with your family resting and praying, and I wouldn’t want to take your attention away from those significantly more important matters.
I still feel compeled to write a short article emphasizing the significance of today.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
— John 3:16
A God so loving that He sacrificed Himself in His only Son so that we could be with Him for all eternity.
A God so humble that He chose to be born in a stable instead of a palace of marble and gold, so that not only the rich but the entirety of humanity could follow Him.
A God so strong that He chose to become flesh and bone and endure the most terrible of punishments, for us.
It’s very much necessary to take a moment today and meditate upon the birth of our Savior. This day is for Him, and we should use it to honor Him. Furthermore, we should use it to kindle in us a new fire, one that purifies our spirit and urges us to imitate He who was born on this day, over two thousand years ago in a cold stable in Bethlehem.
Amidst the blessings of this day, amidst the giving and receiving of gifts, amidst the family games, the tasty food, and the uplifting music, take a moment to truly contemplate the reason behind it all: God became man, for our sake, to bring us the opportunity of a salvation we didn’t deserve.
That is the true spirit of Christmas, and everything we have, and everything we are, stems from that moment in time in which the Virgin Mary gave birth to our Lord.
God bless you all today.
God bless your families and communities.
Merry Christmas! Christ is born!
