That's what I think too. He made it impossible for me not to see him, and just used the keys as a prop to get me to pay attention haha. Really excited to learn more about such a great Saint.
Your story touched my heart. I'm a former atheist that recently fully embraced the Catholic Faith. The history of saint's captivates me and San Anthony is no exception. The intercession of saints is powerful when prayed with faith. In a way they have faster access to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Love to hear this brother! I'm also only just now starting to realize how powerful the intercession of saints is. Glad you liked the article and that you found your way to Christ. God bless you!
I really appreciate the article. Love St Anthony! Just an aside, does the Canticle of Creatures normally say "Sister Mother Earth" because Chesterton's book on St Francis seems to suggest that wouldn't be the way he would have said it, I mean calling the earth "Mother". Chesterton writes that the honor St Francis gives to creation is more fraternal and less like that of a trembling pagan. "Mother Earth" suggests a trembling pagan mentality.
So funny because my son loses his keys frequently. I, like you, was "Protestant" for a while and not into the saints. I used to think they were basically mentally ill. But recently I am really getting intrigued by a lot of them and I have called out to St. Anthony numerous times. He usually comes through for me, unless it is just "coincidence", but not always. I think maybe some of the things I am looking for I may have thrown out, in which case I don't think he can help me retrieve them, alas.
Enjoy your journey of discovery. The greatest part of a saint's story for me is always how much of their lives are similar to ordinary people, with all our faults.
Saint Anthony found you. The keys were a bonus. Expect more to come. Once he takes someone on he doesn’t let go.

That's a good question and valid concern, I genuinely don't know the answer, but I'll do some research. And thanks for reading!!

It really is very interesting how clearly the saints come through for us. It's difficult to think it's just a coincidence

Thanks, Robert! I'm very excited to learn more about him and about other saints.
