February Product of The Month: Biomax Aleppo Soap

I first used aleppo soap back in 2022. I was somewhat new to the holistic and natural health sphere and was looking for something to replace the harmful and chemically charged comercial soap I’d always used. I got in touch with the guys at Biomax and started using their soap.
The Problem With Commercial Soaps
For a little bit of context, the reason commercial soap is harmful, specifically for men, is that it contains a lot of endocrine disruptors. Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC’s) are chemicals that interfere with your body’s natural hormone function and biological rhythms, which has a massive negative impact in various aspects of your health and vitality.
Some common EDC’s are phthalates, triclosan, benzenes, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc. When you wash with these chemicals, they are absorbed into the bloodstream & essentially mimic estrogen. That is what a xenoestrogen is by the way. Estrogen excess is one of the root causes of ill-health & disease in men & women today, since estrogen is pro-stress and stress leads to poor health conditions in general.
Take a look at the back of your soap or shampoo bottle, and it is highly likely that you’ll find one or more of these EDCs. If it looks like it’s written in a foreign language, it probably is a harmful chemical.
Not only are these EDC-containing soaps bad for your health, they just don’t do a good job cleaning your skin. Mainstream soap isn’t actually “soap”. Soap is only produced by combining an oil with lye (this is called saponification).
Most of the stuff you see in the shops are actually just “detergents” that contain chemical surfactants, which “clean” you by stripping your skin’s microbiome, leaving it feeling dry & unhealthy. The microbiome are the microorganisms that reside on your skin, and the microbiome is essential to maintaining healthy skin. When you outright remove it by using commercial soaps, you are at risk of redness, itchiness, eczema, and other skin conditions.
A Better Alternative
Aleppo soap is a type of soap that dates back to the 1st century B.C, in Aleppo, present day Syria. It is often referred to as “green gold” due to its light golden exterior, which comes as a result of its 9-month drying period after production where the moisture in the soap evaporates and the outside becomes oxidized, making the bar firm & long lasting whilst the inside remains green, the color of olive oil, one of the three ingredients it contains.
