April Product of The Month: Based Pine Pollen
Category: Nutrition/Supplementation
Pricing: $69.99 for one jar. Lasts about 3 months.
Last month, the featured product of the month was Based Shilajit, by BasedSupps. That’s a product I’ve been using for months now and it’s become a staple in my supplement stack (now consisting of a grand total of 2 supplements, creatine and Shilajit 😂).
After trying out the Shilajit, I started following Erik, the owner of Based Supps, and his brand more closely, and saw they only recently released a new product, Pine Pollen. I had never heard of a pine pollen supplement, so I reached out to him and started researching a bit to understand the benefits. From what I’ve seen so far, Pine Pollen might be the next big supplement.
What Is Pine Pollen?
Pine pollen is the male spore of pine trees. It's loaded with phytoandrogens, naturally occurring plant steroids that can have effects on humans. They’re essentially the opposite of the phytoestrogens you find in soy, hops, & other feminizing products. These phytoandrogens are:
Gibberellins (phytoanabolic hormone)
Brassinosteroids (anti-xenoestrogen)
Androstenedione (test precursor)
DHEA (upregulates ARs & mood)
Each of these bioactives has unique benefits, and they all synergise with one another for a variety of health benefits, for men specifically, such as increasing natural testosterone production, enhancing energy, endurance and protein synthesis, as well as protecting against xenoestrogens.
Pine pollen has also been traditionally used as a versatile vitality enhancer since it’s loaded with vitamins and other micronutrients, and studies show it to be a very nutrient dense product.
Pine pollen looks to be very efficacious, but why isn’t it talked about more?
The answer is that most products don't really work. Pine pollen itself has horrible bioavailability and it’s difficult to acquire in large enough doses. If you want to get the full benefits of these plant steroids, you need a specialized extract, not the powder you’ll likely find more easily.
As to how it’s used, the safest and most effective way seems to be to dissolve in water & hold under your tongue for a bit. Cycle 5 days on, 2 days off and no more than 2-3 months on.
Benefits Of Pine Pollen
Now that you know what Pine Pollen is, here’s a few of the benefits of Based Pine Pollen.
The most bioavailable pine pollen product on the market: Taken sublingually, it bypasses the harsh environment of your stomach acid & goes directly into the bloodstream.
Increases free testosterone via phytoandrogens, as it contains bio-identical human androgens.
Support cognition & mood (neurosteroids): Pine pollen appears to have nootropic properties, to help your cognitive power, focus, and mental clarity and energy.
Xenoestrogen defense: Pine pollen serves to counteract in a certain degree the environmental xenoestrogens we are all exposed to, which cause hormonal imbalances and health issues derived from them.
Testosterone booster: Pine pollen is an absolute androgenic powerhouse, as it contains:
- Gibberellins (phytoanabolics)
- Brassinosteroids (phytoanabolics)
- Androstenedione (test precursor)
- DHEA (upregulates ARs & mood)Loaded with nutrients: Pine pollen is a great source of Vitamins B, D & E, minerals like magnesium, calcium & potassium and antioxidants and anti-inflammatories.
Beyond all that, you can read all the testimonies from Pine Pollen’s effectiveness at Based Supps website. Also, the fact that they produce it in limited quantities to maintain quality standards and the product sells out consistently goes to show how many more men are finding great value in this supplement.
Definitely worth a try if you’re a man looking to improve your overall health and vitality.
Let me know in the comments how it goes with Pine Pollen and what your experience with it is.
Also, remember to recommend some brands that you like for the “Product of the month” section, I’m always looking for good products to recommend on here.
